Up close and personal with my favourite Sydney icon.
After a morning burying my face in my notes and studies, i just wanted to spend the rest of the day bumming at home. Then i realized that this was the kind of attitude that has made me hinder my photographer duties for a long time. And after attending the National Geographic Live talk last weekend, i should be more than motivated to push myself to work harder.
So i decided to photograph my favourite Sydney icon, the Harbour Bridge, from a different vantage point.
I love playing tourist, because there’s always a new discovery to be made even in a city you already call home. Finding the stairs that leads up to the bridge was tricky, and did you know you can actually climb up one of the towers? I stumbled upon the Pylon Lookout by accident and that’s where most of these shots came from. Trust me when i say that this whole experience was definitely a workout.
It did feel rather exhilarating to be behind the camera once again. Maybe i should start making this Sunday discoveries a thing.
