Cheonggyecheon Stream.

April 15, 2015

Spending the last day of 2014 with the love.

I was pretty excited to be celebrating New Year’s in Seoul, only to find out that the Koreans aren’t so big with the whole countdown stint. The traditional way of ushering in the new year is apparently by watching the first sunrise, most commonly at Pohang Beach. There is also the Boshingak bell ceremony, where a citizen would be selected to ring the bell in welcoming the new year. This was near our apartment but when we got there it was so crowded that we decided to pass.

The Cheonggyecheon stream was a short walk away and it looks breathtaking at night (we went again in the morning and the dead plants were kind of an eyesore). There’s supposed to be a fountain on one end but we didn’t manage to walk the entire path as the temperatures were below zero and after a while my chest started to hurt and i began to have difficulty in breathing. So the boyfriend demanded we head back and guess what?

We spent the NYE countdown sleeping away in bed haha.

Trust me, when you’re that exhausted, ain’t nobody got time for a countdown.
