10 Things To See And Do In Arashiyama

March 4, 2018

When you think of Kyoto’s Arashiyama, the first thought that comes to mind is most definitely the famed Bamboo Forest. Tourists from all over the world flock here just to see it, making it one of the busiest tourist districts in Kyoto. While it serves as the main attraction in this quaint little suburb, there are numerous things to see and do here as well. I have only ever discovered Arashiyama for half a day but here is a list…

Less Than 24 Hours In: Nara

February 6, 2018

What We Did We arrived Nara around noon and initially wandered around the couple of shops nearby, stocking up on Daiso’s heat packs before making our way towards Todai-ji Temple. It was crazy freezing on the day we were there, and when we stumbled across an old lady selling steaming hot sweet potatoes out of this portable wood-fired oven, we immediately started waiting in line (though we misunderstood the pricing and ended up paying 1,000yen for a sweet potato yikes). Oh Deer

January 29, 2018

Such beautiful creatures! Finally paid a visit to Nara Park, home to countless of wild deer, but despite being wild, there’s nothing wild about their habitat. I chose Auckland because he has relatives there and its been a couple years since he last saw them, so…

Redwoods

June 4, 2016

Into the woods, into the woods! I have always wanted to shoot in a pine forest and believe me when i say i spent forever looking for the right outfit (when i don’t even know what kind of outfit is right), but decided to heck it in the end because i didn’t have anything to wear (typical women problems – we never have anything to wear) and it was too cold when we left that morning. The Redwoods Forest is…

Te Puia

May 28, 2016

#momentswithyou at the Te Puia Geothermal Valley. First stop on our roadtrip of the North Island! The boyf and i are both landscape photographers, so our kind of attractions usually involves getting out of the city. We rented a RAV4 (our first time driving overseas!) and made our way down south of Auckland, with me playing navigator and entertainment sidekick. Or rather me being the one singing out loud and having a private party while the boyf was concentrating on the…
